Brian attempts to land the plane but ends up crashing into a woodland lake. He’ll have to learn to survive on his own, armed only with a hatchet, which his mother gave him just before his plane took off.
In the adventure of The Hatchet audiobook, Brian spends the summer learning how to live in the wide wilderness with nothing but his hatchet. With the hatchet, he learns to build fire and consumes whatever food he can find, including rabbits, birds, turtle eggs, fish, berries, and fruit. Mosquitoes, a porcupine, a bear, a wolf, a skunk, a moose, and even a tornado are among the natural perils he faces. Brian improves his survival abilities and becomes a skilled woodsman over time.
